In this project we propose a method for the storage and analysis of
digital mammograms, the method is implemented by means of a two-phase
algorithm; The first phase is the segmentation of images where characteristic
patterns of cancer are obtained and the second phase these patterns are
classified for diagnosis using BI-RADS protocol. The method is implemented
as an extension to the database manager system with new data types and
functions for each phase of the algorithm. In addition, the conceptual and
detailed design of a mammography database for clinics and hospitals at
the national level and its respective analysis interface is proposed.
